17.3% of the jobs in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing are held by women
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 1,926,000 people were employed in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing (which includes metal forgings and stampings). 17.3% of them are women. Specifically in the metal forgings and stampings manufacturing industry the percentage of employed women was even higher – 20.9%. In the coating, engraving and heat treating industry, 20.3% of all the jobs are held by women.
Hispanic representation in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing industry stands at 14.4%
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 14.4% of jobs in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing industry are held by Hispanic or Latino workers. However, out of all the Hispanic employees in this industry, only 2.5% are in the metal forgings and stampings manufacturing. In the coating, engraving and heat treating industry this representation stands much higher, at 22.3%.
Low representation of Asian workers in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing industry
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 only 2.5% of all the jobs in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing are held by Asian workers. Specifically for the metal forgings and stampings manufacturing, the number is a little bit higher – 3.2%.
Representation of Black or African American workers in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 Black representation in the primary metals and fabricated metal products manufacturing stands at 6.6%. The number is a little bit higher (7.1%) for metal forgings and stampings manufacturing.
Women and minority representation in the machinery manufacturing (specifically for the engines, turbines, and power transmission equipment manufacturing)
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 15.2% of all the jobs in the engines, turbines, and power transmission equipment manufacturing, are held by women, 5.0% are held by Black workers, 3.0% -by Asian workers and 10.2% by Hispanic workers.

According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 24.8% of 278,000 jobs in the aerospace products and parts manufacturing were held by women. Black representation stood at 4.0%, Asian representation at 7.1% and Hispanic representation at 8.1%.

According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 women represent 26.2% of 354,000 workers in the aircraft and parts manufacturing industry. Black representations is 9.1%, Asian representation 5.5% and Hispanic representation 10.8%.
Hispanic representation in the electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance industry stands at 11.9%
According to the numbers from the Current Population Survey, conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 women accounted for 15.2% of the workforce in the electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance industry. Black representation was 7.8%, Asian representation was 5.8% and Hispanic representation stood at 11.9%.
